Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno refuses to oppose the congressional campaign of the man accused of scalding his daughter with boiling water and fracturing his granddaughter's collarbone.
In religious conservative culture, women are always blamed for the bad behavior of men. If only the girl or woman had been reverent, meek, modest, or respectful enough, the man wouldn’t have harassed or assaulted her. Bad things don’t happen to good women, so if something bad happened, it was because she wasn’t good. A father will “love” his daughter and still blame her for causing the abuse.
To add on: It seems that now that he’s seen how the political wind is blowing on this story and that Miller’s violent history going back to high school is being reported, Moreno is now supporting his daughter.
I mean…they’re literally trying to pass an act they call “SAVE America” (I know Conservative women like Britt and Blackburn are included so not just the men, that said, but it’s chiefly Conservative men like Lee and Tillis who came up with this evil bill on purpose- Miller here voted for it in the House here, to no shock) that does targeted voter suppression of 69 million (mainly married) women at large because they can’t hope to win at all with a President at 39 approval anchoring them all down so are trying to take advantage of this gender gap being the cowardly men they are…you can’t put anything past these people so it’s self-explanatory why with Miller he’s like this as an actual misogynist, and will do anything to cling to power...and I put nothing past them, either, viewing them as far more dangerous than many do right now between this, ICE coming everywhere with troops, gutted VRA, etc. coming in November I am confident Trump is copying Putin as are they (Patel is going to Russia 3 weeks before midterms, for a reason, not a good one either).
Men who want to be “protectors” have to acknowledge that most women are attacked by men whom they know — partners, friends, and relatives.
Until then, men will continue fantasizing about beating up a stranger jumping out of the bushes, which is just that — usually a fantasy — and no help to women at all.
Thank you so much for this. It needs to be said over and over again. This is who they are. The so- called defenders of families and women will eat their young. I saw a poll the other day---and I know polls are not to be trusted---but--maybe this one can be. It showed that Republican voters do not see accusations of domestic abuse or sexual assault as being disqualifying for candidates for office. I know---of course they would say that---because they've already shown that by voting for Trump. Still. I hope the rapture comes and raptures all these folks to wherever they deserve to go before it's too late. Thank you again. I really appreciate your essays.
In a sane world, he would resign from Congress the next day but instead he’ll stay right there in that imo clubhouse of elites protecting each other like Gallego did for Swalwell (as he is still being protected too from any consequences on the D side in the former case) as well as Cory Mills (also R-FL) besides Mr. Miller here on the R side etc.
I think the answer is self explanatory though, which is to say, that said most Conservative men are basically misogynistic in most cases (they don’t believe in pro choice ideology, for one thing, they support bans on abortion in almost every case including rape I mean…) so suffice it to say if they don’t care about women or their own wives’ lives, then why would they care about their daughters either?
Then again given what’s in the Epstein Files 100% I’m sure is of a bipartisan nature the others have feigning concern in that case…and Hakeem Jeffries is going to be almost impossible to force to get those out of him so easily after midterms as inevitable to me right now Majority Leader as Speaker of the House, watch.
But to the topic here the President’s a pedophile and Reps like Max Miller still follow him to the end of Earth, I mean, it’s not much of a stretch unfortunately sadly- when you look past that or anything else, everything goes further down the gutter from there for Conservative men logically.

100% agree. It’s sickening. Every woman deserves to be safe from abuse and DV. But jeebus if someone were doing this to my child…
