Thank you for the analysis. Thank you for the truth. Trump will go as far as the conservatives on the Supreme Court and his toadies will let him. And as far as we, the opposition, will let him. While it seems highly unlikely that his loyalists could break with him, there is simply no way to predict the future. As Andy Borowitz likes to say, history isn't linear. I still say he’s a modern Hitler, imo, mixed with Mussolini: he’s the opposite of a socialist or communist, has always been a fascist since Trump debuted on the scene but he’s added to his core white nationalist base since 2016 making grievance voters of young men, some minorities (at margins), and older women sums it up as to how we’re here now imo coupled together.
Trump was elected twice on hate, and resentment, period thus the antidote is harder to figure out than anything since to unify those who don’t like him is the hard part without dividing that opposition as that’s how he got elected through subtraction and division of those who don’t wish him to be Pres or King— but for now, putting any check at all on him is imperative, or it’s over before 2028 ever starts imo.
If even pedophilia is not overreach for the cult base in the low to mid 40s, this won’t be imo.
The only way to have any chance to escape from this is to overpower it with those who disapprove of Trump or strongly hate him to coalesce behind that movement— and that’s easier said than done because any demographic or cohort not showing up or turning out means defeat against the fascists, period, finding someone who can keep that together even harder still since Biden managed the former but failed to do the latter while President (also letting Trump go above the law for a coup de etat led to it being normalized, etc).
We have a lawless President with absolutely no checks on him sans federal courts which he scoffs at, and he intends to keep it that way if he can help it— as well as make himself a King if left unchecked, Trump will do all in his power to keep his trifecta and run for a third term if left the way things are now imo which is why against all odds he has to be checked urgently before it’s terminal.

I think this was always what they were working toward. Criticism of Trump will be criminalized under this administration, regardless of the law.
