How can you write about chronic illness in children and not mention Long COVID?
With 15-20% or 6 million children (est. in study below) suffering from it, it far surpasses asthma as the most common chronic illness. Hundreds of thousands more are afflicted each year.
And because children a) aren't as capable of communicating how they feel and b) have different manifestations of key symptoms, it's almost certainly underdiagnosed.
I agree that both Democrats and Republicans have sacrificed our children to the pandemic, an especially egregious offense considering the cheap and effective non-pharmaceutical environmental mitigations that could eliminate airborne illness almost entirely, like ventilation, HEPA filtration, and UV222 and UV250+ upper-room lighting.
And, almost most horrifyingly, all of this for what? There is nothing anyone is *gaining* by causing so much needless suffering and pain.
Thank you for writing this. It’s horrifying, but needs to be screamed from the rooftops.
This is a terrific bit of journalistic work, bringing together what seem random snippets of GOP-created reality into a truthful frame. Thanks.
This is a necessary piece. It's an indictment of too many in our country willfully supporting greed and corruption. 💔😱🤬🤬🤬
