For me, this week has broken through the sadness/helplessness/despair I have been feeling about the state of things. Now I feel genuinely angry.

Thank you, Jill, for putting into words the despair. I am as low as I've been today. You voiced with purity all I've been feeling and thinking. Reading one's own anguish in another provides the strength to fight on.

“It’s increasingly clear that Americans are not being governed; we are being ruled.”

The thing is we’re supposed to be able to govern ourselves but can no longer do so because OUR government has been captured by an anti-democratic minority, which is successfully, if unlawfully, operating in an authoritarian manner.

Fingers crossed that our institutions are not so severely compromised that we can’t have real midterm elections this year, that we do have them and Democrats win control of Congress, and that Congress impeaches and convicts DJT.

Interesting fact, illustrative of the problems we haven’t solved as America has grown and developed: the population of Brooklyn, NY is greater than the populations of Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota combined. People in Brooklyn, NY share two US Senators with millions and millions of other New Yorkers. People in Wyoming and the two Dakotas are represented by six U.S. Senators.

This was true during the genocide of Palestine- I also don’t know how to salvage a nation, including the liberals, who denied and supported a genocide of Palestinians.

The extremely strange and fantastical notion that "most Americans want this" has to die in a fire. "Most Americans" seem one courageous politician away from taking back the streets of their cities.

It all started with a LIE. Lying is stealing the truth. Our nation will not be in at rest until Donald J Trump LIES in State.
